Call of Duty 7: Black Ops

More COD: Black Ops Information

Here is another small news round-up on the latest information. There isn't much going on at the moment, but we should have more news soon since Treyarch hasn't yet revealed the games co-op mode. Who knows what other surprises they have in store.

Combat Record
Games these days seem to track all your in-game stats and allow you to browse them later to see how you are performing. Black Ops will have in-game stats that will be added to your "Combat Record" page, which will have detailed information on heat maps, weapon statistics, kill/death ratio graphs, and more. David Vonderhaar
I think people are going to be pretty happy what we did with the stats system in Black Ops. If you played World at War, you'll know we had a pretty insane stats web site. Now a lot of those stats are also inside the game in what we call the Combat Record. It's 5 tabs of goodness.
Leaderboard Hackers To Be Banned
The Xbox 360 and PS3 leaderboards in Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) have been a big mess due to hackers and worst of all, no action has been taken to remove them. Treyarch has the tools to ban these players: Josh Olin
Yes, we have the necessary tools in COD7 Black Ops to moderate the leaderboards. Furthermore, we'll ban those who hack.
It's good to know that Treyarch plans to (at least tries) keep these hackers at bay. The PC version of Black Ops will also have a leaderboard, just like the Xbox 360 and PS3, but it will be interesting to see how it works out since the PC version will be more open to exploits and hacks.

Pro Perks
Most of the Pro Perks are still unknown, but luckily more information has been revealed on Hardline Pro and Sleight of Hand Pro. Care Package users are going to be pleased; if you don't like what's inside a Care Packge, just randomly swap the reward with the Hardline Pro perk. See the example picture below.

Hardline Pro

Sleight of Hand Pro was already confirmed to allow faster ADS (aim-down-sight), but it's now also been confirmed by David Vonderhaar that it doesn't work with sniper class weapons.

Quickscoping
Sleight of Hand Pro doesn't work with sniper rifles anymore, so it makes quickscoping harder and less rewarding - the way it should be. Quickscoping is extremely popular in Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) due to Sleight of Hand Pro allowing players to achieve fast and highly accurate shots with minimal aiming.

Black Ops 3

Developed by Treyarch, Black Ops 3 is the latest Call of Duty game to be released on the PS3/PS4, Xbox and PC. Featuring new weapons, perks, maps, and scorestreaks the next black ops game is the most ambitious COD game to date. Multiplayer in COD: BO3 will be available on Xbox LIVE (requires Gold Membership), PlayStation Network and Steam.
